Perspective with the Pen - Writing Enthralling Action

Action blocks do more than introduce characters and set the scene.

Action blocks are used to describe the movement of the camera, where to focus the story, and how to show it.

Well-written action controls the pace, while defining the visual elements necessary for the story to be told.

In this workshop, we will explore action through studies of Pace, Visual Storytelling, and Writing with Direction.

We will use 'Whiplash' as a companion script for this workshop.

We are open to reading up to 10 pages, in Standard Hollywood Format. Please send submissions to: daniel@dallasfilmcrew.org
